The Student Room Group

Have you experienced victimisation or violence at uni?

Currently there is no student-specific, national research into all the kinds of violence or victimisation uni students experience. How strange is that? :beard:

Obviously at uni, life can be a bit 'bubble-like', so it's possible that what uni students experience could be quite different to what the broader population might experience in relation to things like, sexual violence, harassment, racial violence, micro-aggressions, online violence, etc. That's why it's important to find out what you experience specifically. :yep:

So City, University of London are currently conducting a pilot piece of research into exactly this! They're working with academics and specialists from the University of Surrey, De Montford, Universities UK, and Nat Cen (social research), and this is a national survey.

This project is super interesting and will hopefully lead to bigger projects researching the nasty stuff uni students experience (and hopefully then onto improvements in supporting structures).

So, if you're enrolled at a UK uni and over 18 years of age, you can participate in the anonymous survey. It takes 15-20 mins.

You can access the survey here >>

Please don't worry about any experience being too big or too small. They just want to get as accurate a picture as possible.

I wasn't sure whether I was supposed to tick "female" or "woman" because apparently there's a difference now

More than happy to discuss and debate questions about gender if anybody would like. Just start a thread here and I'm more than happy to join in.

However, this thread nor the survey linked in the OP is actually about gender identity. So let's keep this on topic please.
