aqa a level sociology grade

Hello everyone,

I have a question and would like honest opinions.

As you all know the exams for 2021 have been cancelled and my school has been heavily focused on making us take exams (mainly high controlled exams).

Throughout all my exams I have been receiving roughly 69% in my a level sociology which my teacher says is a C grade. Which I was okay with until I started looking at past grade boundaries for a level sociology and other official websites which makes average grade boundaries for AQA A level Sociology which state then I'm actually getting low A's/high B's.

If this is the case and my teacher's gradings are wrong should I have a private discussion with her about the situation or is she right for giving me a C or is the past grade boundaries and average grade boundaries more reliable as there is a big difference?

Sociology is roughly 60% for an A and 70% for A*. I did the autumn exams last year and got around 76%, clear A*. I would talk to your teacher about that because unless they’re using completely different ways of marking, you’re definitely above a C

really? do you think the grade boundaries will also be like that this summer?

I knew her grading was too harsh! I have spoken to her and she told me to forget about the grades on individual assessments... really hoping it isn't just to keep me quiet but if I have to appeal then so be it

Yes that is true however the 2020 paper was sat in covid conditions meaning that the grade boundaries would be similar (retakes last year)

And many other schools are using average grade boundaries to decide this years grades. If anything, grade boundaries for 2021 would be far lower than any other year instead of higher.
