History/English Written Work?

Does the word count of the works cited contribute to your overall word count for the written pieces (because the limit is 2000)? Aka is works cited part of the word count?
Different rules for different institutions etc.
Check with whoever set the work.

It's for Oxford and I checked everywhere and it doesn't say

It’s highly unlikely to count towards the word count but maybe check with a tutor in your department to be 100% sure
