Which course

Hi I’ve no knowledge on electrical engineering but I’m looking to apply to uni to study it. Which the HNC or the Beng( hons) would you recommend for someone like myself who would be new to all of this?

So HNC stands for Higher National Certificate which is a level 4 vocational qualification

An HNC is equivalent to the first year at university.

BEng is a Bachelors in Engineering, usually a three-year degree with the potential to study 4+ years depending on whether you decide to study a foundation year, placement year, or integrated masters route.
Our electrical and electronic engineering degree, for example, is fully accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology. They count as recognised qualifications on the way to Chartered Engineer status. I would advise researching into the degree programmes, attending open days (whether held virtually or in-person), and asking questions to specific universities of courses you are interested in.
Potentially it might be that a uni advises that you study a foundation year as part of the course programme but it will vary from institution to institution
