I think the Second World War created an economic mess, including high rates of unemployment as individuals who are previously conscripted in the army found themselves unemployed with nothing much to do, most factories that were working overtime during the war to manufacture amunitions and artillery had to shut down. More importantly argriculture and trade, particularly in Europe, had grind to a halt at the time.
Economic / social situation before the time period. Changes during the wars and the after effects on the economy / social system.

Times of scarcity with food and jobs, rationing, changing workforce, rapid advancement of tech etc. Mentality of pulling together, all helping out and doing ones bit for the greater good.

Afterwards industrial age, changes in employment, people relocating, some jobs redundant whilst new ones created, effects on public health + wealth.

60's and 70's, check out how culture changed, social system etc. Those who lived through war now shaping policies, new generations being raised by them and their ideals, hippies...

(Just my 6 in the morning tossing around of ideas, sorry if they're terrible).
In the 60s and 70s there was a significant shift towards neoliberal policies as opposed to Keynisian values that dominated the 40s and 50s
