uni of Edinburgh for medicine

hiya, ive been speaking to the careers teacher at my school and she mentioned Edinburgh uni place a lot of emphasis on extracurricular activities like sports and music...can anybody expand on this and also how much do Edinburgh look at UCAT scores?

Edinburgh do not even look at PS for shortlisting, so your careers teacher is rather out of date!
They use GCSEs 25%, A levels 25%, UCAT 35%, SJT 15% for shortlisting.
This year you needed 8 x 8/9/A* GCSEs, A*A*A at A level to include A*s in bio and chem, a B1 SJT and 3000 UCAT for an interview, if an RUK applicant. It was less than this for Home applicants. Dropping on any of those elements meant you were unlikely to make the cut off, unless contextual. I know several people with full academic marks, 3100 UCAT and a B2 SJT who were not interviewed
