Most vibrant cities in England besides London?

I'm considering where else i can move to for work, so far i prefer London the most as it has the most exciting things going on to me. But i'm considering a change and somewhere with lower living costs so i can have a better quality of life, but still with diverse communities and lots going on eg events, creative culture, parks.

I hear places like Manchester and Bristol are comparable?
Oxford 😍😍😋
Birmingham.
Bristol.
Brighton.

It has all the things you said you wanted -
diverse communities, events, creative culture, parks. The city centre is like...a city centre, but even just a mile away in any direction it's different. I'm a big fan of Brum.
Liverpool :P
Push the boat out. Consider Glasgow or Edinburgh in Scotland. They tend to have the best infrastructure and amenities outside of London and Manchester.
York is beautiful.
Manchester, Birmingham, Cardiff, Glasgow, Nottingham

You’re moving somewhere soon and you don’t know that much about it??? It is the capital city of heaven that graciously descended on the Earth. Beautiful and perfect in every way 😋
I love Oxford, but I would never call it "vibrant", because to me that implies somewhere with nightlife, excitement, and fairly multicultural. Aside from student life which tends to be separated off, the city seems very middle-aged, lots of academics, and it's quite culturally homogenous. There's culture, but it's mostly farmers markets and bookshops - which I personally love, but I don't think it's "vibrant" like London is. If you're considering moving for work in particular, there's really not much to do for young professionals.

For somewhere vibrant and cultural, Bristol springs to mind, and I'd also say Glasgow (which has the benefit of being very cheap). I've heard good things about Birmingham, Manchester and Newcastle, but haven't visited myself.
All I can tell you is no where in Surrey

Hey Anon.,

As someone from a vibrant city (London) I wanted to give my view on Hull where I am currently studying! I originally came to Hull for work but decided shortly after to go to university so hopefully this helps give you an idea of what its like here. The city is extremely diverse, although mostly a student city, I have stayed during summer and winter breaks and its still been bustling! Hull was the UK City of Culture in 2017 and had a lot of investments into the city... i can honestly say there's something here for everyone! It is also extremely affordable, compared to bigger cities in terms of rent, socialising, travel etc. The location of Hull is also perfect as we are so close to seaside towns (Withernsea and Bridlington) and smaller cities like York.

We have loads of events going on throughout the year such as; Hull Fair, Humber Street Festival, Pride Festival etc. Also lots of super beautiful parks and walks that you can spend time in during your day off. I really enjoy walking along the sea under the 'Humber Bridge' and going to 'East Park Animal Sanctuary'. If you have any questions about living in Hull then please do let me know and I would love to help
