HMRC TSP 2021 - pre employment check - advice

Hi All

The Assessment centre for the HMRC Tax Specialist Programme was online this year. Since completing the assessment centre, I have been emailed to send in ID docs for pre employment check. Does this mean that I will be offered a position or will all of the candidates have been asked to provide this information.

If they asked for your ID and other documents then it means you potentially have a conditional offer (as long checks are satisfactory).

That’s what I thought. I received it last Wednesday. Got everything crossed that I’m successful and just wondered if this may have been an indication.

You don’t usually see them do it before they know who they’re offering the posts too... otherwise they’d waste time doing unnecessary pre employment checks!

Edinburgh and Glasgow- dont really have much hope for Glasgow as it tends to be more competitive for all public sector things. You?

Nottingham and Birmingham.

Edinburgh has been one of the less desirable locations in the past. U defo got a decent chance with Edinburgh. Glasgow will be harder to get.

Edinburgh is a location that tends to get some people moving from elsewhere to join the course

think it's all down to cost of living, Cardiff is a more popular than Bristol because there's loads of cheap places to live in easy commute

I'm hoping you're right and defo got the same vibe re Edinburgh. Another thing it depends on is the number of candidates in each location but I don't think this has been finalised yet. Dunno much about Birmingham but it seems a fun place to live :biggrin:
