Law appreticeships

Hi, i'm currently in year 12 and I want to go into Law. Which career in law I am not fussy about. Would apprenticeships be a good option of university? How competitive are they? How many are there typically avaliable?

If you don't know what kind of law you want to do, do not do a law apprenticeship, but rather do a full LLB. An LLB will give you minimum 3 years to try lots of different areas of law and see what areas you find interesting. Law apprenticeships tend to be in house (ITV for instance) and therefore you only really try one area of law - in this case media law. If you do that for a few years and realise that you hate media law, then you are kind of just stilled boxed into media law, because that's how you trained. If you're not sure, go for the option that gives you broad experience (university LLB) and then specialise later on. If however, you are certain on the area of law you want to do and can get an apprenticeship in it, go for it.

Hey! I decided to opt for an apprenticeship for the opposite of what people are saying above. It depends on where you get the apprenticeship. I don’t know what area of law I want to qualify in but an apprenticeship allows you to still study the different areas of law and work across different departments. However, as said earlier, some apprenticeship are catered towards specific types of law so it is up to you doing your research!
I believe you can only do solicitor apprenticeships, so unless you’re dead set on becoming a solicitor, I’d go for a law degree.
