First time entrepreneurs should know???

What should all first time entrepreneurs know before starting their very first business?
If you have an idea, stick with it and believe in it. Don’t let other people opinions come in the way of you doing something that brings you joy. It is best to consult an expert so that you don’t waste your time and effort.

I went to the University of Sheffield.
At the time, they had a service called University of Sheffield Enterprise (USE). They probably still have it.
The service was designed to help and encourage students who wanted to set up their own business.

There was a major issue with the service, however; it wasn't run by people who know anything about business.
In their view, starting a business was all about writing a business plan and approaching banks for loans. That is NOT how to start a business.
They were totally oblivious to the principle of creating a minimum viable product (MVP), creating a lean business, and bringing something together with what you have available and just making it work.

This 'bureaucratic approach' to starting a business, as I call it, will not help you succeed.
These people think that starting a business is also about writing business plans and registering a limited company.

Ignore these people, they will hold you back.
