Background Checks for Big 4

I’m a recent graduate looking at accountancy and finance roles. A few years ago I got a job as an operative but had my contract terminated.

would this be found out by my future employers (such as the big 4), through background checks even though it will not be added to my cv? What type of background checks does the big 4 take?
They may ask for reference checks, including periods with gaps.

I left after the first day and didn’t give them a reason.

You should be fine..when I got offered a grad scheme (top 10 firm) I was only asked for a university reference.
If this was during uni you are fine, don't put it in your cv and they won't ask.

If after and its a gap of longer than 2 months they may ask.
