is there a reason tall guys are attractive

is there like a scientific reason/ sociological reason i find them attractive

Tall guys like 6ft 2,3 or 4 are quite rare.
I think that's quite appealing
Taller guys have more mass, and therfore more molecules. More molecules therefore means they have more protons. These proton have a large positive charge with attracts the negative outer electrons in a females body. Therefore, taller guys are more attractive

Then obese guys would be just as attractive, for the same reason. Are they? Lol.
Tall people have a physical advantage when it comes to combat/survival.

All things being equal greater leverage will help you (as seen in most combat sports) and a taller body generally equals a larger frame which allows more muscle to be packed on. You will see all strong men are pretty damn tall because you simply cannot pack as much muscle on a 5’8 body as you can a 6’8 body.

Its not just personal preference though I’m sure some people do have a weird obsession with it but its also an advantage when it comes to combat and growth. Women thinking they feel ‘protected’ whilst annoying does have something behind it.

yes women like to feel protected and maybe even intimidated by the male. personally I can't bear giraffes and don't want any bandy legged men near me
Probably a evolutionary preference which is an element of telling if a potential partner is capable of protection/safety

I think it's pseudoscience for one simple reason: humans adapt to their environment and change to best fit the conditions they face. Not cling to primitive outdated concepts which are no longer useful.

In a modern environment, combat is irrelevant for the most part. People now protect and provide for their partners with other means. Zuckerberg's spouse is far more secure and well cared for than the spouse of some muscle giant man warrior in the jungle somewhere.

Humans psychologically adapt to some extent, but there are a few somewhat hard-wired tendencies and preferences left over from the ancestral environment. Guys generally have an attraction for larger boobs because in the ancestral environment, a larger-breasted woman would be better able to feed any kids they had, on average. These days it doesn't matter at all because formula milk has been invented, but the general preference remains. And I could write pages about how the slut/stud dichotomy basically stems from the differences in "ideal" reproductive behaviours between men and women - that's another piece of psychology that's been baked in by evolution.

It's not just about combat, anyway. Humans in the ancestral environment would have wanted a healthy and functional partner who is able to contribute effort to finding resources and potentially raising kids - someone who is basically hale and hearty and hasn't had periods of malnutrition while they were growing up. A person's height is a good way to estimate that at first glance. And so that preference got somewhat hard-wired in by evolution, since people with that preference tended to have more, healthier kids of their own, which means we still observe it today.

While you're correct that there are all sorts of social and technological factors that make those sorts of preferences misguided even if a person's only goal is to be safe and have as many healthy kids as possible, the part of the human mind that governs attraction is basically irrational. It doesn't really understand the recent developments, and to a large extent still goes by what evolution has baked into it.

Hard wired instincts don’t go overnight (unfortunately).
I'm very skeptical of all the 'evolutionary' reasons for attractiveness now, like survival and mating etc. Society is extremely malleable and quick to adapt, look how much porn has conditioned or re-conditioned people in especially just a few decades let alone thousands of years. The things that drive us today are imo not strongly linked to evolutionary justifications and i think this is propaganda most often cited by companies that wanna sell you something or advocate a particular ethical view under the guise of 'neutral science' and humankind rhetorics.

Tall guys are just hot, rather than help us 'survive' they might think they can ward of a brute in a pub, or like how it looks in photos together, they affirm the submissive or hyperfeminine ideal in which girls can look and feel smaller as they look more dominant, or think they have big d****.

It's not that deep for everyone.
