Hi everyone!

As @Keele University has said, I'm one of Keele's student reps here on The Student Room. My name is Amy and I'm currently in the second year of my PhD in English Literature at Keele.

I'm a mature student who commutes to Keele for my studies - I took quite a gap between my undergraduate degree and coming back to do my MA at Keele in 2019. So in addition to answering any of your questions about clearing, I'm happy to chat about postgraduate life, commuting to university, being a mature student, or any other aspect of the student experience!

Wishing everyone awaiting exam results the very best of luck and please do get in touch to ask any questions!

Hello everyone!

As @Keele University mentioned, I am also one of the student reps for Keele University on TSR. I am Thirangi and I am a third year Physics with Astrophysics undergraduate student at Keele.

I am an international student, who got into Keele through clearing all the way back in 2018! So, I would love to answer any of your questions about clearing, being an international student in the UK, living on campus or around the area, and also the life of an undergraduate student at Keele!

Good luck to everyone awaiting their results! My colleagues and I will be more than happy to answer any of your questions!

Hi!

Great to hear you're thinking of coming to Keele - what are you hoping to study?

That's completely understandable but please try not to worry - as a campus university, Keele has over 2,800 bedrooms on site - all within a short walk of the centre of campus! So there's plenty of space and, as you'll see from the website links below, our team have guaranteed to find you accommodation as a clearing applicant.

We've got some really useful information about clearing accommodation on our website at https://www.keele.ac.uk/discover/accommodation/essentialinformation/clearingandadjustmentaccommodation/, including some FAQs at https://www.keele.ac.uk/discover/accommodation/essentialinformation/clearingandadjustmentaccommodation/accommodationclearingfaqs/.

There's details on there about when and how you can apply for accommodation through clearing, when you can expect to hear back from the team, and when you might expect to move in.

Hope that helps but let us know if you have any other queries or concerns - we're happy to help!

Hi Keele 2021 Applicants!

Just to let you know that the applicants portals have now been taken down until 8.30am on Tuesday 10th August to prevent any potential breach of the UCAS result embargo.

What this means, essentially, that you won't be able to access SCIMS/evision content until after 8.30am next Tuesday (10 August), after which you'll be able to login as normal to check on offers etc.

Good luck to all those waiting for their results - we're really looking forward to welcoming you at Keele!

We'll be keeping a close eye on this thread come results day so if you have any clearing questions, please ask away here or check our dedicated Clearing and Adjustment pages at https://www.keele.ac.uk/clearing/ - there's contact details on there for our Clearing hotline too.

Hi, I received an offer to study Pharmacy through clearing  and was wondering whether the course is either being taught remotely or face to face?

Hi!

Great to hear you've had an offer to come and study with us at Keele!

We are currently planning for campus to be fully operational in the 2021/22 academic year, guided by the Government’s roadmap. This offers the clear prospect of a fuller and more ‘normal’ campus experience for our students and staff. Of course, we will also be flexible and ready to react to any further national restrictions as we have done over the last 15 months or so.

So, essentially, it is very much hoped that courses will operate as normal and that students will be able to engage in as much on-campus, face-to-face teaching as possible. That depends, of course, on how the situation develops with Covid-19 and on any government guidance issued to universities over the coming weeks.

You can find out about Keele's current operational status and our Covid-19 guidance at https://www.keele.ac.uk/coronavirus/ and there is some specific guidance for applicants at https://www.keele.ac.uk/coronavirus/applicants/. You might also find it reassuring to speak to one of our current Pharmacy students to find out what the course is like - and how her studies were adapted when we had to switch to remote learning last year. Thomassia is available to chat with on Unibuddy at https://api.unibuddy.co/og/keele-university/buddies/students/5e7b7b42e7aa05049820716e?buddyPosition=share.

Hope that helps - and if you have any questions about Keele, campus life, or the local area, please do ask!

Hi, that was a very helpful answer! Thank you.
I also wanted to ask about accommodation, as I am worried I won’t be able to get a room with an en suite.

Hi there!

As my colleague mentioned, congratulations on your offer to study at Keele!

Can I ask if you have already applied for accommodation? If yes, what were your top three choices you put down on your application?

The accommodation FAQ web page mentions that if Keele is your first choice, even if it is through clearing, these applicants will be given higher priority when rooms are allocated- https://www.keele.ac.uk/discover/accommodation/howtoapply/applicationfaq/#i-came-through-ucas-clearing,-will-i-still-get-accommodation-on-campus?

Hi. Do you think it's likely for me to get a room? I am absolutely, undeniably terrified of not being able to get accommodation of any cost. I lost a lot of time trying to get out of my previous firm university after being told a lot of incorrect things so I've been trying to pick up the pieces but the dread of everything is taking over. I don't know if I should have to start looking elsewhere for rooms, or ultimately cancel my place if I can't get anywhere to live at all, since I don't want to be homeless.
