Okay so think of how many suits there are. Hearts, Clubs, Diamonds and Spades. You should easily be able to get it from there. Let me know if you need any more help.

To be fair to every single person who has seen this question, it is extremely unfair to anyone who doesn't know anything about a card deck...

you should count the cards that have a heart, not the total amount of hearts :smile:

okay so I will have to try and explain the question to you since you don't actually know how to do this, because without it you can't actually answer the question to its full extent and get all the available marks:

this deck has 52 cards and 4 suits. This means that you should do 52/4 to see how many cards are in each of the 4 suits.

This gives you 13 - so there are 13 cards with a heart on them.

This means that the probability of pulling a heart is 13/52 BUT this is not the simplest form.

To get this in its simplest form you can simply divide 52 by 13. This gives you 4. So 13 goes into 52, 4 times.

13,26,39,52

So with this information you can say that the chance of pulling a heart out of the deck is 1/4. This is its simplest form.
