hello, I am in the process of applying to Barts. I do apologise if this is not the correct place to post.

How much annual leave do you get from this course?

Is is similar to to other degrees, you get Christmas/new years, Easter and 6 week holidays? Just asking as I will be finding myself through the course and will need to work.

Thanks

I'm not sure about other years, but for first year, you get 2 weeks each for Christmas and Easter, and I believe it's about 15 weeks for summer break (between 1st and 2nd year) normally? It's a little shorter this year (13ish weeks) so we can catch up on in person clinical skills/anatomy/physiology teaching.

For work, you could try to work as a health care assistant over summer / year 13 to get a care certificate, then you could do bank health care assistant when ever there is a low in your course to earn abit of money?
I want to apply next year to QMUL after my gap year as I didn’t get any medicine offer this year. I see they do weighting 50:50 on UCAS Tariff Points and UCAT score.

I have A level predictions of: A*A*A*A so 216 UCAS points I believe. Yet I am in their miss die range of tariff points on their website ? I would have thought I was at their higher range because of my 4 a levels and high predictions. Does this mean that most students who apply have more than 4 A levels or is it common to have Tariff points for something other than A levels. I just find is hard to believe my Tariff points are in the middle given my predictions.
I had 2610 on the UCAT this year. This with my 216 Tariff points. Would that have gotten me an interview this year at QMUL based off of the data you have seen if I am non contextual.

I am trying to figure out the best places to apply to optimise my chances next year and I love QMUL and I got an offer for boomed but ecolier told me not to take it lol. So happy year it is. Any advice ? Do you get higher tariff points if your grades are achieved and not predicted? Do QMUL regard achieved grades higher than predicted grades in terms of their points system? What UCAT score should I get based off of this year to be safe - assuming I achieve my predicted grades.

Also what is the interview to offer ratio in the last and were many kids rejected this year. Much higher than usual ?

Thanks for all your help!
Oh I do apologise. I just wanted to know the stats of the kids who got offers this year and if I would have a realistic shot as a gap year applicant next year
Are there any gap year students on here who got a place at QMUL A100 2021 application. If so could you please PM me so we could talk as I have a few questions but don’t want to derail the thread. Thank you so much!

Barts make offers of A*AA at A level and shortlist using UCAS tariff and UCAT 50:50
You can see past successful combinations here, but I am afraid those stats are almost certainly too low

Hi guys,

Do you think I have a chance at getting an interview?

Stats-
Alevels- A*A*A*A (achieved)
GCSEs- 887776665 + extenuating circumstances
UCAT- 2590 Band 1 but I think i need to resit as I had tech issues on the day and I lost 10 mins during QR which quite significantly impacted my performance (I’m waiting on UCAT people to review my case)

Thanks 😊

Look out for the 2021 stats when (if) they release them, as 2020 stats were slightly lower than the historical combinations needed
Hey guys my stats are:

GCSEs:
9 A* A* A* A A 7 6

A levels (achieved): A*AAA

UCAT: 2830 B3

I'm an international student

It would be greatly appreciated if someone could let me know what my chances of getting an interview are!

I am not doubting you, but have you counted Highers you have taken on to AH, as you can't count them twice?

Still a great score, but I thought your first one was pushing it a bit
Your score looks to have been ok for 2020 entry, but check again when 2021 stats are published. 2020 was a bit lower than usual levels, but I think you should be ok
