EPQ Medicine

Hi! I've recently just been looking around to see gather some ideas on EPQ and I'm still not quite sure on what to do. I'd really appreciate some ideas or advice. I'm thinking of Medical Ethics however I don't want to do something very popular such as stem cell ethics. I'm also doing psych as one of my a-levels which therefore limits my options for my EPQ

Hi there,

One of the most important pieces of advice I've received for my EPQ was not to go for something too broad - so if you're thinking of Medical Ethics, think what parts interest you the most, where you can debate, and if there's actual room for research. I did my EPQ on the British school system, whether it provides adequate help for students with mental health issues. It was justifiable since there's a lot of research over the years, which made it easy. If you want, I could point you towards some sites that I used when I did my EPQ?

An overview of EPQ - understanding the AO's is really helpful:

Not sure how useful you might find these, but looking at other ideas, even if not similar to my subject area, was really useful in seeing how I might narrow a subject down or create a question compelling enough for a full essay. Let me know if I can do anything else to help!

Thank you! I'll have a look at these links.
Do smthn your interested in regardless of whether u think it'll impress uni interviewers. Erm... like for example literally everyone does stem cell research coz it's new, it's medically, it's common but unless your actually interested in it and can make it like "your own" then I wouldn't go for it xx
