MA English Literature Application advise?

Hi, guys
I am prepared to apply for a MA in english literature at a range of universities, next year.
I know that some applications require a personal statement as well as a 2,000 or 3,000 work piece to support the application.
My problem is that I didn't do English Literate at undergraduate ( marketing)
I do not have any essays or stories at all- only one essay that talks about if being a celebrity is a good thing or not.
Any ideas how to get around this or should I take some creative writing classes to develop my writing?

If you are looking to apply to a course in this subject, then you obviously must have a passion for literature! In my experience, I have found that universities often look for evidence of your love of the subject, and your willingness to learn more about it within the MA. In your personal statement you could talk about your favourite works of literature, and how they have inspired you and driven your own understanding of the subject. Any prominent examples of literature being an influence in your life, too? Use them in your statement!

My initial advice for an application would be to gather a list of your potential universities, and then take a look at what sorts of literature they specialise in, and whether it appeals to you. Always take a good look at the entry requirements, too. Each university looks for different things in an application so it is always good to gauge exactly what they are looking for first, before thinking about making an application.
