NHS GMTS 2022 NHS Graduate Management Training Scheme 2022

Hi everyone,

I thought I'd start this thread in anticipation for the September 2022 entry for the NHS GTMS.

Has anyone else seen that the application process for this year has completely changed? Instead of typical separate aptitude tests, it is now a 3 stage process - "Capptivate, Simulate and Virtual Assessment". Not sure what these will entail yet.

What streams are you all planning to apply for? Not sure when applications open yet, it's usually October time, but best of luck everyone

EDIT: Applications open 4th of October and close at the end of November. A big difference from previous campaigns.

Hey! Thank you for starting this thread.

I am planning on applying this year, I'm in my final year of uni so this is my first attempt. I attended the webinar where they introduced the new style of assessment, it seemed to really differ from what I'd already seen about the scheme online so I'm a bit worried about entering uncharted territory here haha!

I'm most interested in the policy & strategy scheme, but as it seems to have been the most competitive last year I feel like I should go for something else - my background/degree has an HR focus so likely will end up applying for the HR stream. Or I might be feeling super confident tomorrow when the applications open and follow my heart 💜 towards policy.... I prob should have already decided this by now haha. What about yourself?

Curious to know what other grad schemes people will be applying for - expect a lot of us will also be applying for fast stream/other public sector areas.

Thanks again and good luck with your application
Great to hear! I’ll be applying for Policy and Strategy - you can add a second choice so I’ll be adding General Mgmt.! P&S is super competitive but you can add a second choice so if you don’t make the cut for this one, you can still be considered for the other.

Best of luck for the tests! Quite nervous to start them as they seem really different to previous years.

Hey all! So this will be my second time applying - last year, I passed up until the video interview (that included) but due to a lack of virtual assessment dates, the application couldn’t progress which was so bloody frustrating but here I am again; maybe I’ll have better luck this year!
Second year for me too! Yes, it does sound very different this time.

Out of interest, has anyone actually tried to start their application yet? It seems as though applications are now open but upon clicking the apply tab there isn't actually a link to start.
Ignore me - found it on the specialism page!

That's a bit scary! So they ended your recruitment process because they didn't have resources to further assess you? When did you apply?

Erm literally and it wasn’t just me, it was so many of us! It was last year - did the tests and passed, did the video interview in December and passed and then after that waited and waited for an email invite for the assessments and eventually they sent an email saying they can’t progress further!!

That's mad!
Yeah that's awful! I bet you're hoping for better this year.

Does anyone know when applications close? I heard in a seminar last month that it could be November. Which is different to last year.
18th December
Does it actually say that anywhere though? Because I'm sure that the NHS recruiter in the seminar said November.

Hi Everyone. I am in the same boat. What is different this year? What is Capptivate Assessment? I have started the application doing the basics but I did not find any option to choose more than 1 scheme? Anyone know where I can find that?

Yes the deadline is 18th December. Once you begin the application process they will also email you information regarding the 18th Dec deadline.
You identify your second and third choices in the initial application.
