Excellent overall university. If you get in, you should go.

i've heard the opposite, that the social life is great but everything else about the uni is ****. also why are you going to uni to socialise?? you can do that elsewhere without getting £50k+ debt surely

No I meant the social aspect is quite important to me.
Are you in year 13?

What course?
It's a big city university, the buildings are very spaced out so there isn't a community feel (what I've gathered from others' opinions).
There are many international students - its own website states that it has '53% international students', so I'd imagine that it would feel like being abroad in your home country.

Nah

Oh okay, then how do you know it's an excellent university?
I'm just kinda reluctant because everyone online says it isn't that great..

Probably because of the online lessons due to Covid but UCL is one of the best unis in the world.

Just because its academic reputation is good doesn't mean everything else about it is. Think about the mental health struggles that their students go through bc of how intense the workload is.

I'll be able to handle the workload, that's not something I'm too worried about x
On TSR, there’ll most likely be bias and misrepresentation of what UCL actually is. I’m not saying it’s good nor am I saying it’s bad but I’m just stating that the integrity of some people on TSR regarding this topic is heavily corrupt.

Just like any other uni, there are pros and cons. Weigh them out and see which one out-balances the other, whilst trying your best to avoid confirmation bias.

Really? I am at KCL currently and all is face-to-face. Granted the class sizes are small, but all that money for online, what a waste.
Hey, I’m a first year ucl student. Everything is pretty much online (6 out of 8 lectures are online for my course, stats econ and finance). All been self study so far. Flooded with internationals (especially chinese). Quite hard to make course friends as a result of this. But yeah the reputation;employer prospects are excellent.

True. Was hoping to get opinions from people who actually go to UCL or know a lot about the uni.

Hey, thanks a lot. Quick question, do you know of anyone who studies physics or engineering there? Do you know what they think of the course/employer prospects? I've heard UCL isn't that great for STEM subjects
And also, do the internationals all stick together or do you just not relate much with them? Thanks

By 2022 hopefully it's all back to normal because I wouldn't be able to handle online learning lol :/
