Hi guys, I'm not sure what my predicted grades are yet, but I am considering applying to chemistry and then pharmacy as well :/... I love chemistry and it is my favourite A level but my friends think pharmacy is a little bit better suited to me and my personality. What should I do? Both or one or the other.

you should do what intrests you not what your friends think you should do imo
Thank you for your reply, the thing is I have enjoyed working in the pharmacy before and I wanted to study chemistry to make medicines but I may be changing my mind. I love the pharmacy course at UCL so I may apply there and another chemistry course at King's but my personal statement is going to have to reflect the two 🤔

With chemistry you cover topics like medicinal chemistry and can go into the pharmaceutical industry if that interests you. If you wanna be an actual pharmacist that works with people then do pharmacy. But again if you go for pharmacy you wont be able to do things that people with a chemistry degree do. Im also applying for chemistry this year, perhaps you can do chem with med chem?
Anyone interested in study partnering (?) for chem, as I realised that I need to get myself together and start putting in effort  I do OCR A btw
Do you guys think these unis are a good choice with my expected UCAS grades:

History - likely a B (hoping for an A but probably not)
Literature - 99% sure it'll be a B
Language - I actually think I have a decent chance at an A

Essex - BBB
Exeter - AAA
Keele - BBC
Kent - BBB
Leeds - AAA

I'm applying for Liberal Arts and after looking through virtually all of them these are the only ones I like enough to apply for

This Is the advice my scl gave:
Of the five choices you put into UCAS
One can be “above aspirational” (i.e. at most 1 grade higher in one subject than the Predicted Grades)
Two at least should be exactly on your Predicted Grades.
Two must be below your Predicted Grades
One choice should be one grade lower in one subject
One choice should be two or three grades lower overall
Only a fool would not have at least two choices below their Predicted Grades. We know none of you are fools.

Thanks, do you think I should look at replacing Exeter or Leeds with a lower offer? I didn't find any I liked with lower offers and I qualify for the Exeter contextual offer of BBB but I know that you shouldn't apply based on that. I might just leave it as I'm more interested in the lower grade unis anyway :dontknow:

essex keele and kent sound like good choices. i think a wise thing to do is choose one thats a bit above your predicted as an aspirational choice e.g. one that requires AAB or AAA, and maybe make the rest of them more realistic to ur predicteds. your current choices arent too bad but i might change exeter and/or leeds if i was u
Anyone still confused about where to apply - or what to apply for?
Post your questions here.
Is anyone applying for computer science

Currently overwhelmed with simultaneous English Literature and History coursework. We have mocks in January and our teachers are ramping up homework in preparation - I'm so stressed and several homeworks behind ahh. Would really like to sleep. :frown:

I've applied for English to Cambridge, St Andrews, Durham, UCL, and Birmingham. Only offer rn is from Birmingham so I'm enduring the agonising wait for everything else.
Applied for 2 vetmed and 3 zoology. Got my 3 zoology offers back from manchester met, leeds and bangor which it really cool. This b***h is off to uni 🎉

My mocks aren't until after February half term. The first day is 28th of February, the rest are in March. They seem so late.
Many schools have multiple mocks some before and some after Christmas- December-Jan for first lot and Feb onwards for second
