Applying to universities and admissions

hey, does anyone know where i can to talk to counsellers and get help for my univeristy admissions? i homeschooled myself so, im on my own basically. Like if anyone here is one, can you message me? I'd really appreciate it. i feel so alone with this whole uni admissions thingy and my parents are not of use at all.

If you have specific queries then TSR might be of use. I can imagine without a guide or a teacher it can be daunting as you are probably feeling a little at sea by yourself, but the UCAS application is actually a pretty straightforward once you start filling it in.

TSR is short for thestudentroom aka this website.

You can browse the applying to uni, uni courses & universities forums if you have a query about something related to uni/uni applications.

Take it one step at a time or the system can seem overwhelming when really it is not too hard and there are lots of people on here who will give you advice when you have specific questions.

The first step is to register with UCAS so you have an account, and decide which degree subject you want to study. Then think about what grades you are likely to achieve, and who could write a reference for you. This is normally done by school/college - but do you have a tutor or someone who could predict what grades you are likely to achieve?

You are right!! I will do so.
The thing is, I don't have anyone who can predict any grades because i self taught myself and sat the full A-level syllabus in one go. So, i have no idea what to do in this case:/

Have you already sat your A levels and got your results?

I would submit the form after you have your results so you can list them. This means you won’t need predicted grades. You will still need a reference but this could be from a previous employer or someone who knows you well outside of family
