University of York or Leeds

Hello,

I got offers from the University of York and the University of Leeds.
The one from York is MSc Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence and the other is MSc Artificial Intelligence from Leeds. I want to progress as a Data Scientist, AI Engineer, Machine learning and if not at last a software developer.

According to you based on the University reputation, employability prospects, teaching quality, which one you would recommend me please?

Is there someone from either course from the University mentioned above please? Can you help me out please?

Thank you very much for your support guys.

Kind regards.

First of all, I should make clear I'm not a CompSci expert, so @shadowdweller may be able to offer a more specialised view.

In terms of the difference between the two courses, it would seem that the Leeds one is purely AI - which would be great if that is 100% the route you want to go down. While the York course does give you a few more pathways. However, am I right in assuming you've got BSc CompSci? So you've got that broad overview already, in terms of how it looks on a CV.

On reputation, my thoughts are that these are two large institutions and both would probably serve you well in terms of careers support via their respective career teams.

Hello,

Thank you very much for your comments. This will surely guide me.
Yes, I'm from a Computer Science background and my primarily career vision is to be a Data Scientist. I think in terms of reputation Leeds is a bit better as it has more years of existence compared to York, and has proved to be a bit more excellent across computer academic. Correct me if I'm wrong

Kind regards.

Hi

Personally, I don't think the years of existence thing is relevant.

Hello,

Yes, you got a point to. What are your views?

As both are good universities I suppose it depends on the course?
Also, you should consider which university you like best and which location.
It depends on your personal preference. Personally, I prefer Leeds because I am a city person and I like the city and university. However, York is a pretty place.

Have you visited both?

I like Leeds too. I'm pretty similar to you; I like cities too. You are right. York is a beautiful place. However, I went through some reviews relating to York, and they were not too good compare to Leeds. In terms of support given by the tutor, the support from the University itself. Leeds were far better when analysing the reviews.

Actually, I want to pursue a career as a Data Scientist, AI Engineer or at last as a Software Developer. So, I prefer Leeds for the MSc Artificial Intelligence, as I can be a Data Scientist, AI Engineer, and at last a Software developer at least, as every IT programme needs to have programming module. So, it would help in every way I think.

What are your opinions ?
