I'm guess I'm one of the rare applicants (if not the only one) who's applying with a master's degree.

Undergrad: some top 15-ish uni in China, majored in chemistry

Undergrad grade: 83% (equivalent to 65% i guess?), ranking top 30%

Graduate: King's College London, MSc in Economics and Finance

Grade: 76% (excluding the disso, not graded yet), ranking 3rd/148 (a big jump from undergrad right?)

Others:

I've also applied for the MPhil in Econ Research,

Took TOEFL: 113/120, and GRE: 169Q / 165V / 4.0 AWA

Hi guys, I am applying to this programme and the current status is "awaiting approval by PAO". Does anyone know what does it mean?
Profile:
BSc Economics in a Russel Group uni, 70+ in first two years.
I wanna pursue a doctoral path in economics and wanna spend two years on the graduate degree (econ research is one year - also more competitive so apply for this programme)
btw does anyone know some info about the conditions? (e.g what kind of grade?)

Hello,

I have the same status. Apparently "PAO" means we are good, but not sure at all.

I have no idea about the conditions.

Hi guys,
My status changed too. I suppose this means we passed the first two rounds of approval? But I'm not sure how safe we are in securing a position. Fingers crossed.

Your background seems to be a big jump too... from chemistry to econ&fin hahaha if you don't mind...can I ask which uni for undergraduate? (just curious because 15-ish is a specific and weird description hahaha I feel ppl normally use c9 top5 top2 etc? just guessing: Sun Yat-Sen? Beijing Normal? Huazhong uni of Sci&Tech?)
applying for econ research is courageous, they normally accept ppl with a bachelor's degree in econ but if ur chemistry degree contained lots of maths maybe it would be fine? if u pass it could u plz update, I am also applying for an MPhil programme in another department, nervous...
