ovarian cyst - should I bother?

I had an ultrasound due to pain in my ovary and got the result today. Apparently I have a "small" ovarian cyst. The woman on the phone set me up with a gynecologist for 2 weeks time. I've been googling it and it seems like most cysts sort themselves out. I don't really want to go to my appointment because of covid in the hospital when it might sort itself out.

What should I do?

You should discuss it with the gynaecologist just to be sure. If you don't want to go in perhaps ask if you can have a phone consultation instead?

Wouldn't they want to do a physical exam?

TSR isn't the best place to get advice on removing cysts.

I'm asking whether to go to the doctor about it not for advice on removing it.

Which is an issue that you should speak to a proper person about so I guess the answer is yes.

well you should as they are asking to meet you in person despite covid, which may mean it's urgent - we wouldn't know that so it's best to ask them

Go to see the specialist at hospital when appointment arrives as a precaution if anything for your own health sake.

Hospitals are completely safe as massive procedures in place to stop any infections in there occurring especially covid19 as you follow all the advise on hands sanitising, face coverings etc same as hospital staff do.

Don't always trust what you read on Google especially health related issues as not always correct information.

They need to ask questions / maybe examine you or refer you for another scan while there.

Only the specialist at the hospital can tell you whether its safe to leave or has to be removed for health issues. Can cause more pain etc if ignored.
