Female independence in Jane Eyre (English Lit A Level)

Hey! I've got to write an essay on Jane Eyre and female empowerment and independence. I cannot write about Jane's refusal of Rochester as it features in a previous extract question. I have written about Jane's outburst to Mrs Reed, I just need one more event. Any help would be GLADLY appreciated!!!
Hi! I think the way Jane decides to flee from Thornfield (and consequently a life of luxury and happiness as Rochester's companion) when she finds out Mr Rochester is married shows independance; no matter what she will stick be her moral principles.
Hope that's helpful!
