bro just use common sense. Do you think it is right to have child pics on a phone in general? you should even be sending pics of yourself to a minor.

By the way, yes it is illegal and you can get done for it.

You can't get 'done' for holding naked pictures of yourself but it is pretty unwise to do so. Someone could get access to your phone and see/distribute those pictures.
Sending naked pictures of a child (an under 18) is illegal and foolish.

If you mean the police, they will keep it for as long as they need to. It might be used as evidence in a trial and there is a huge backlog in the legal system right now

I’m just confused because, I sent stuff in January 2021 to my boyfriend at the time and then I learnt my lesson when it somehow got places in June, and then authorities came my house yesterday saying there wasn’t an indecent image of a child uploaded in November but if something was uploaded of me, I would’ve found out, but the dates don’t add up, thing is, they took devices from everyone in the family but that isn’t entirely fair, because if they suspect it’s me they should’ve only taken it from me. They could just give me a caution and i’d delete everything I shouldn’t have on the phone. I didn’t even know about all of this until I did research after it happened.

depending on what "authorities" you are talking about taking all the devices - if it is the police and they are looking at a crime around child porn or revenge porn then that could lead to a court case. There is a huge backlog of cases waiting to go to court due to covid.

I can’t lie, there’s so much more to an under 18 sending nakedness than what people think. I never ever sent until I kept getting asked for them from people back in high school and then it’s like peer pressure but then it went left but I guess I didn’t learn my lesson, because I did it again first year of college, and that’s when I learnt my lesson, like obviously some people make mistakes until they actually properly learn. But it’s just I do study law but we only really ever did civil law and things about murder and theft etc not stuff like sexual offences so, I had a blind eye to offences like that. It’s just, my whole family needs their devices because they got work and university, and like they just taken everything, even laptops realistically, the laptops I only used for movies and doing my coursework. I just want my stuff back. Obviously I don’t know how long investigations take but, I start university in September, i’m not 18 yet though. Also does anyone know why authorities ask if you have mental illnesses in these cases, because they only asked me and no one else in the family.

Yes it’s police, but i don’t know like they believed everyone else’s phone passcode but didn’t believe me when I told them what my passcode is and they asked me to put it in infront of them. Yeh she didn’t give details other than indecent images uploaded.
