Do you write fig1 or tbl1

I have created a few tables in my assignment and I wasn't sure if I have to label them as a figure or a table? I have got normal pictures on the document that I have labelled as figures as well

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I'd personally go for spelling the word out, I don't think there's an official style guide there.

"Figure 1" tends to abbreviate neatly to Fig. 1 and that form is commonly used in journal papers, PhD theses etc. Table 1 to tbl., not so much, as Sinnoh says, I would stay with "table" in the text.
