What happens if you write / draw something rude in a gcse/ a level exam paper?

Does it get traced back to the person and reported to their exam centre? Are there actual punishments?

Depends on what it is. Don't do it, though. GCSE exams are not a joke.

Punishment will depend on what is written. Loss of marks is the least that will happen. Disqualification from the subject or even all exams by that examiner are possible. The centre will be informed and they may take additional disciplinary action.
