Changing course at Durham

You can Ask Us to consider your application for another course if it’s open at UCAS and is a different subject area to your original choice (usually based on the academic department the course was from). We'll then consider your application against the criteria for that course and let you know our decision as soon as possible. This will not put your existing offer at risk – if we can’t change your course then your existing offer will remain open until you make your replies or until the UCAS reply deadline passes, whichever is sooner.

Even if the course is not open, it's still worth sending them the query because your offer will still be in place.

Dear Himeka, my daughter is in the same position and asked to switch from Anthropology last week. We haven’t heard anything back… when will we hear? She has her heart set on Durham!

If you can't change at this point, there's always a possibility of changing after results day. I changed from natsci doing mostly biology modules to the chemistry msci this way

Hi ! I changed my course, and it took around 14-15 days to hear back with confirmation

could you tell me what you changed to? do you know if it was still open on ucas to apply to? thank you !! xx

I am a home student ! I emailed around April 4th, I think. They replied the next day, and I had to write a paragraph on why I wanted to change + the benefit I'd get from switching, as well as confirming the two courses. Then I got a response around the 19th or the 20th, with my new offer appearning on UCAS that evening
