University Fees

Hi

If a U.K. student (GCSE in U.K.) studies overseas for A’level s will they be classed as a overseas student when applying for university? Thank you
That depends on if they can provide evidence that the stay outside the UK was temporary and for education only.
If you have that evidence then your ordinary residence will remain the UK even while living abroad

Hello,

Where will you be living and how long for? Is there a reason you're studying your Alevel's overseas?

Thanks, Lynsey.

Hi we would be going to Saudi Arabia with my husbands job. She would start her Alevels here in the U.K. and then transfer to an international school.

she would then come back home for University.

Thanks

The job is permanent.

Hello,

Thank you for confirming! A student who does not meet the three year residency requirements has, in effect 'broken their residency'. However, they could still be deemed eligible if they can prove the break was of a temporary nature and they were planning to return to the UK (maintained a link with the UK).
As this is a permanent move, the student will not be eligible for funding.

Thanks, Lynsey.

Thank for clarifying, there is one last question. We plan to keep our house in U.K.on and will continue to pay utility and council tax as we will be returning on a regular basis. Does the same rule apply? Thank you

Hello,

You could send temporary break in residency evidence, that you're maintaining a link, however, we are unable to confirm if the student will be eligible until we receive and process the evidence. In addition, as the move is not temporary, it maybe rejected.

Thanks, Lynsey.
