Ede and Ravenscroft gowns vs. Ryder and Amies. What are you all going for?

Price and quality I think. E and R offer higher quality gowns for a much higher price whereas R and A offer cheaper gowns which are of lower quality. (Regurgitating info from earlier)

Ah, right. My college just asked on the accommodation form if I wanted to buy one through them... Hope it's good!

Right, on the Ryder & Amies website there is a gown for each college: does this mean I must wear the college gown? The Pembroke one looks like a bin bag with holes in it, whereas the Corpus one looks cool.

Yes you have to wear the correct gown for your college.

I'm rather enjoying the fact they got a male model for the Lucy Cavendish and Murray Edwards gowns.

Haha, I wish ! No, A levels in capitals, AS levels/ EPQ in lower case:
A*s in A2: Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Chemistry, General studies
    a* in EPQ
as in AS: French, Critical Thinking, Biology
That's still A LOT! That's more than some people do for GCSEs My brother did 11 topics for A-Levels (both AS and A2) and got almost all A*s (all except General studies and Latin and Japanese). But that's because he went to a Private school.

No, I just went to my local sixth form college! It gets pretty good results though, so it wasn't really worth paying for a private school even if we could afford it!

Anyone have any idea how to decide on which freshers events or how to buy tickets? Feeling a bit overwhelmed

Are you talking about those 'parties' going on in September?

Assuming you're talking about the September events, I don't think most people bother. Up to you whether you think it'll be beneficial or something you'd enjoy, but most people just come in October and start meeting people during Freshers Week.

Is it me or does Corpuscle sound like something really gross?

It reminds of popsicles, which are delicious.
