# Predict your A/AS level Mathematics UMS! Watch

1. (Original post by JoshC98)
FP1, S1 and S2 were my AS Further Maths units, and FP2, S3 and D2 were my A2 units. If the only way for me to get an A* in further maths was for S2, S3 and D2 to be used as the A2 units, will they automatically be rearranged in this way?
As long as you have got a valid combination to go into regular Maths (e.g. S1, D1) then yes.

Yep, maths will be C1-4, D1 and M1 I think (Unless they swap S1 for M1 for UMS prioritisation)

12. AQA predictions. UMS is too specific to predict but I'll do the grades. 90-100: A*, 80-89: A, 70-79: B, 60-69: C, 50-59: D, 40-49: E, 0-39: U

A2:
Core 3 - A (due to low grade boundaries )
Core 4 - A*
M2 - A
M3 - U (just like C3 but 100 times worse and not enough people do it to affect the grade boundaries much; anyone who did this can relate tbf lol)
FP2 - B
FP4 - B/A
D2 - C/B

AS retakes:
Core 1 - A (originally B)
FP1 - A (originally B)
S1 - A (originally D)
13. Edexcel

I feel like I don't actually want to do this, but oh well!

I did OCR Maths and Further Maths AS:
• C1 -95
• C2 - 98
• FP1 - 90
• S1 - 82
• D1 - 98
• D2 - 98
Probably way too optimistic, but ah well, I think I've got AA and that's all that counts for me really.
So, I've got my actual ones now, and my predictions weren't too far off, some were too optimistic, some too pessimistic. This was more of a personal thing, but if your interested in seeing them, here you go I guess?

Predicted/Actual
• C1 -95 / 100
• C2 - 98 / 100
• FP1 - 90 / 89
• S1 - 82 / 90
• D1 - 98 / 95
• D2 - 98 / 94

Did I get 290 UMS in Maths and 278 UMS in FMaths?Or will I have different?
15. Predicted/Actual

C1 - 98/92
C2 - 100/100
C3 - 94/100
C4 - 90/94
S1 - 85/90
S2 - 92/83 (I would have considered a re-mark but I was 28 UMS off of an A in Further Maths)
M1 - 62/82 (What the **** happened there)
FP1 - 82/77
FP2 - 76/66
FP3 - 66/61

A* and B so overall pleased, shocked by my predictions being so off

Exam Board: Edexcel
Predicted UMS/Actual UMS
C1: 100/100
C2: 88/90
C3: (82 - 87)/87
C4: 90/82
FP1: 84/93
S2: 59/74
D1: 72/84
D2: 81/69
17. I'd made a list of predictions before hand but wasn't brave enough to post them in fear of jinxing it...

Predicted/Actual

C3 - 100/100
C4 - 100/100
D1 - 85/100 honestly didn't expect the boundaries to be THAT low!
M2 - 87/93
M3 - 100/87 genuinely not sure what happened there, must have remembered something wrong from the exam because I thought I got everything on the unofficial mark schemes
FP1 - 90/99
FP2 - 100/100
FP3 - 90/87

Most were close but a few quite far off 🤔

Unit/Predicted/Actual
C1/100/100
C2/90/96
C3/95/100
C4/90/100
M1/50/77 I made some stupid mistakes last year, like doing things in the wrong direction
M2/80/82
S1/?/91
S2/90/97
FP1/90/92
FP2/80/88
D1/80/80
D2/90/100

Exam Board: Edexcel IAL

Predicted/actual:

C34 - 200/200
F2 - 93/96
F3 - 94/90
S2 - 98/100
S3 - 93/85
M3 - 85/73
Apparently self-teaching applied 3s is not a good idea. Would you agree, Zacken?

AS:
C1: 97
C2: 100
S1: 87
S2: 88
M1: 83
FP1: 95

A2 predictions:
C3: 90
C4: 100
D1: 83 (don't know, don't care)
M2: 57
FP2: 92
FP3: 94
A2 actual:
C3: 90
C4: 98
D1: 74 (still don't care)
M2: 57
FP2: 78
FP3: 83

FP2 and FP3 had much higher grade boundaries than I thought. I'm surprised I got M2 so right, given the prediction was just a guess as I knew I'd done poorly. C3 I was thinking lower towards results day but I knew C4 would make up for it.
