The Libertarian Party appears to have managed to be about to die before it's even been formed.

Well if the active "party" is just myself and TitanCream then I'm happy for TitanCream to be leader
Replace party with group, and fine

Update : We are ready to be involved, could we please have our status upgraded to that of party? Despite your reservations o hope that everyone will remember how active I was as Liberal MP and will excuse my slight absence as of late simply due to preparing for university. I also hope that others such as @PetrosAC @Quamquam123 @RayApparently can vouche my reliability. If not then they are no longer friends xD

Personally, I think it'd be useful, given the time passed, if you could now get 8 other people to come and confirm their interest ITT.

If in 3 months' time you have a subforum, 4 or more active members and are producing at least one item of legislation per week, then I'll publicly retract and apologise for those words.

If they're going to survive permanently, then the enthusiasm of having a new party/desire to prove themselves should ensure that they're fulfilling those conditions by the end of that time period.

You realise you've got to prove that this should be a Party, before you're just given party status... So far, all you've proven is that your 'leader' is inactive, and that you and one other member care about this...

    From the Guidance Document:
    1) If wanting to form a party, someone should put a thread in the main House of Commons forum spelling out their main principles.
    2) Interested people should PM the Speaker and proposer.
    3) In deciding whether to allow a party to form, the Speaker should be primarily mindful of the support for the party. Precedent sets the hurdle as 10 eligible voters showing support, though the Speaker may want to consider other factors, such as whether those voters are active House of Commons members
You don't have much chance of a party of two getting off the ground.

Especially when you put it like this:

Half the current interested members wouldn't even be able to vote for this Party in an election.

As a Party, this should be completely and utterly shot down. It's been long enough and you are the only member committed to it (the newer guy hasn't been around long enough for me to know).

You should both go and join the same party together and build a Libertarian faction within that party. That's the only advice I can give you.

The National Liberals had around 7 members as active as the two of you. Where are they now?

The only party I think it'd be worth building a libertarian faction in is the Tories and that's assuming they'd even accept either of us as members. Having our own party allows us to express our views as part of a fully libertarian platform rather than having to moderate to fit in with something else.

In terms of membership its not easy when half of the people probably lost interest because the former leader disappeared, I'm doing my best to get this off the ground and I don't understand why you cannot just give us one opportunity. I keep seeing comparisons to the Nat Libs but that was nothing to do with me and judging us by another's failure is unfair. By denying us this chance you are denying us a voice and stripping the house of an alternative view. Theres not much I can do with simply a *movement*, people aren't going to spend hours or even minutes here debating why they should have X or Y for a movement that has no spine to support itself. Joining other parties isn't the best idea because that just defeats the entire purpose of having a new voice in the house.

If you choose to refuse party status, then fair enough but I know that without a party status then we stand practically no chance. People know who Labour and the Tories are, its easy because IRL they are the dominant parties but a libertarian party? It may be lost in the Lib Dems but people aren't going to come here looking for a libertarian movement, they want an actual party.
