Of course The kettle that lived next to it couldn't possibly used as one though Nah, I think they just didn't have the money to replace it/thought it'd just get broken again, which is probably true! Think I only ever used it once anyway, and that was after school

Gosh, you're allowed a kettle? I'm very impressed we have a hot water tank in a locked cupboard that no-one has the key too. Supposedly that cupboard is our 'kitchen' but it's tiny and, well, locked. Which is one way of ensuring that no-one gets burnt I guess...

Yeah, to be fair I don't think it's really necessary to have a microwave or kettle... they just make life a bit nicer and easier!

Yeah, there's only one between the whole sixth form though so everyone always fought over it a bit They did put a hot water tank thing in at one point but it broke I think. What's the point in having one if they're going to keep it locked though? Ours only had a kettle, sink and microwave anyway so hardly exciting

I agree, I just took my own food most of the time and the only time I used them was after school when I was staying before a concert or something- by then everyone else had gone home anyway so it was a bit quieter. I just avoided the common room in general if I could help it though, except for a few minutes at break and lunch if I needed to find someone/eat

I can imagine that would be a problem, especially in a larger sixth form! I have no idea  perhaps so they can claim that they have one without actually having to worry about it? I've never understood the way my sixth form is run. Better than nothing!

I always take in my own food too, it's so much easier. Although the pasta I brought in this week would have been better microwaved... I only use the common room at break, when I want to socialise. Other times I use the study room because it's quiet

Lol yeah. It's totally disorganised here.

We still don't have our timetables (we kinda worked them out for ourselves by searching in random rooms for a week...)
Still don't have fobs and ID cards
No printers in the school are working at all
Computers are consistently down/extremely slow. Took me 50 minutes to log on today

    and my personal favourite:
One subject doesn't have a teacher :awesome: . I thought that the physicists at my school were ****ed (our amazing new teacher during our first lesson: "You know the course better than I do! :awesome: " Rite ok), but nope, textiles have to worse
Forgive me for imagining your school as a slum

Lol my mother only found out my results yesterday so that was... interesting. My fault for postponing the inevitable but really there's always such an overreaction (not nice considering that I was actually really happy about my grades until I told her :emo: :shakecane: ) Still, moving on...

Tell me about it. About 15 people got kicked out of my year group and at my school you're not allowed to go back to resit year 12 so they've left entirely. Year 13 is now really small and there are loads more year 12s than there were last year. The common room is literally not usable any more. There are so many students in the sixth form that we've had to resort to using science labs and art rooms as form rooms A science lab would be fine as they're right next to the sixth form, but the art room (where I am) is practically the furthest room away so by the time I get to the common room there's already a crowd. Argh, one... more... year...

A2 is alright so far, although I'm not really enjoying physics to be honest. New teacher is not at all impressive. I can see that this year is going to be very different to how things were last year, and not in a particularly good way

    How are you getting on?

It's practically being rebuilt this year so you're not far off The sooner I'm out, the better.

I'm used to slow computers (not at my current school, but in the past), but 50 minutes seems ridiculous

I'm really worried about my sleeping patterns I'm way more tired than usual in the mornings and evenings. Going to bed now would mean waking up at 9am probably, so I should really be asleep

I'm considering bringing my laptop in to work, it's ridiculous.

I hate my sleeping pattern :sigh: . I usually get really tired at 7:00-8:00pm and if I don't take a nap at that time then I'm fine until 1:00-2:00am, and I won't be able to sleep earlier than that. I'm lucky if I get 5 hours of sleep at night, curse the dark circles under my eyes

That's what I used to be like; I think that's pretty common, especially among young people Since I got back I've been a lot more tired though; it might be a side effect of the drugs (fatigue/drowsiness is fairly common apparently). Side note: my chemistry teacher joked that he preferred the morose me, since he was easier to mess with (I never felt messed with, but I guess I seemed it ), so I take it that drugs are the answer to problems, kids

We set up a circular table in our common room to use laptops on It was like a cool computer room for about two periods before new furniture arrived and it was dismantled

Mine were just slightly disappointed initially then it got worse when they heard what their friends' children got. :emo:

We have around 2000 A2s, and 2500 ASs. They take up the back seats of our school bus (which by tradition should be for A2s only ) and they crowd out the corridors, stairs etc. so that getting to another lesson is like going through London during rush hour.

Generally ok. Finding Further Maths much better than I thought it would be like. My teachers are generally better than AS so I'm quite hopeful this year will turn out ok. Only this is there's a lot more homework than usual now.

My sixth form was only 150 peopleish in total so it didn't matter too much Yeah I guess so. Me neither! Like telling us we weren't allowed in the common room in lessons but then giving us nowhere else to work, and not letting us leave school Ahh well, better than nothing as you say

I did that too, although I usually went and hid in the music room tbh, I was normally too tired to work by that point (in lessons too actually, last year was a bit of a disaster ). The common room was always too noisy and crowded, and we couldn't all fit in there anyway really!
