I had an offer come through this morning for my first location preference. I was reserve for Microbiology. It said my offer expired 18/05/16 11:00 so there may be another wave of offers coming out after Weds? And that's assuming that they released all this morning's offers in one batch as there may be more coming tomorrow.
I had given up entirely for this year and in fact my partner accepted a new temp job last Friday on that assumption (so now we're going to be apart for 6 months starting in September) so don't give up hope yet!!!
What trust did you receive a microbiology offer for?

Mid-Cheshire. Did you get the other place offer there?

Ahh, no - see i'm the Microbiology reserve list as well, but I put Mid-Cheshire as not wanted (it's a bit too far for me to relocate to). I was just curious to see which trust you'd been offered

:-( I had the same problem with the majority of the places on offer to be honest. We're three hours from Cheshire and that was the closest location.

I got my feedback send to me today. Apparently there are individual shortlisting scores for the different domains. There are 7 numbers and they cant disclose what each domains are. So basically we dont understand where we got marked low so we cant improve next year
There should be an attachment with the email which shows you the scores per station. (The individual shortlisting domains part is on about your shortlisting score from your application form, not to do with the interview).

Must admit it is not a very clear attachment because it shows you a total out of 40 with everything averaged so that knowledge/communication marks are equal weighting which isn't even the case.
The way you get to your score of 50 is:
    - A) add up all the station knowledge marks for max total of 40
    - B) add up all communication marks for max total of 40, then divide by 4
    - then add A+B together to get score/50

Would help if the report showed this so it wasn't so confusing :P

If you don't have the attachment reply to them asking for it

Thank you! Yeah, don't lose hope! I honestly thought I had no chance but with all of the upgrades etc, I suppose it comes down to the locations people have picked. What specialism did you apply for?
I applied for audiology tbh i really doubt anyoen dropping out of that just because there isnt another linked specialism to it so people will most likely not reject their offers, hold deadline is on Wednesday so find out soon enough,
Did you get one of your top preferences or one of your bottom ones?

Email [email protected] with the subject "Subject Access Request" and also include an attachment with your ID (passport/driving licence)

I thought the chances of anyone dropping out at all at this stage are pretty slim but people's situations change so you never know I selected 6 out of the 10 positions available and this was my third choice.

Glad you got it then, I'm just hoping someone drops out around the Midlands area as that's where the majority of my choices were - fingers crossed something comes through

So do each speciality study at the same Uni? E.g. everyone for Resp/Sleep at Manchester Met?

On the breakdown of Universities it shows both Newcastle and Manchester offering the MSc for Resp/Sleep, any idea if we're split between the two or if they just haven't decided who will deliver the course?

Resp/sleep is at Newcastle along with Cardiac sciences, Vascular sciences, Gastrointestinal and Urodynamics. They all fall under 'Physiological Sciences'. They do the same 'core' modules and then their own specialism modules. You see less and less of each other as time goes on.

Cheers, thanks for the info! How did you find out Newcastle are delivering the course for the Physiological Sciences specialities? I've been looking but unable to find anything definitive.

Yeah I was only questioning it because I know someone on Resp/Sleep at Birmingham this year and their MSc has been taking place in Manchester. I'm from Newcastle but I've lived in Manchester for the past 6/7 years so I'm fairly lucky that either would be suitable!

I guess either would be fine, but my sister's been living in Brazil for the last 6 years but is moving to Manchester in September so it would be great if it was Manchester! I'm also wondering how log we'll have to wait to hear from our trusts. I'm looking at moving to Cambridge, but don't want to do anything too drastic until everything is confirmed!
