Nice theory. :noonoo:

Spoiler:
Show
River could be hopping between Amy's two universes and the Doctor/Rory just stay in one of them.
Good thinking! I'm not sure of the significance of a Teletubbies char tho :p:

Doctor Who Fans Must Wait to Discover River Song's Identity
Matt Smith has said on BBC Radio 1 that the identity of River Song will not be revealed until the second half of the current series, which will return in the autumn this year. However, he insists that her true identity will have "serious" consequences for The Doctor.

Smith said: “It does develop nicely and there are huge cliff-hangers throughout the coming series; there's a great one at the end of episode seven which is a killer and at the start of episode eight we really do learn who she is.”

Matt relishes the scenes he gets to act out with Alex when The Doctor and River meet, as they did in the opening two episodes, and he thinks the time-traveller is one of the few people in the 'Doctor Who' universe who can challenge the Time Lord.

He added to BBC Radio 1: "Well the first time The Doctor met her she died and then she's come back under the tenure of Mr Steven Moffat and we don't know what she is. She just kinds of swoops in and swoops out and causes all kinds of madness and havoc and saves his life on most occasions.

But she knows more about his future than he does which for The Doctor is a very strange and bizarre concept because he usually knows the most and therefore it hopefully creates for quite a funny and flirtatious relationship. It makes The Doctor uncomfortable, which I think is good because not a lot does."

Wow. It sure as hell looks like her. And that can't be a coincidence (even though they re-used Martha) since

Spoiler:
Show
Churchill is in the last episode too
Makes me wonder if she's been an extra in other episodes as well, watching over Amy :moon:

So I got wibblywobblytimeywimeystuff.com - cannot believe it wasn't taken (it needs 72 hours for the DNS to change but it's loading early for me) and bought a theme too. After 72 hours or earlier, we can get started on compiling a list of theories and questions and stuff. :awesome:

Tempted to make this into a Doctor Who news blog too along with some cool gifs. Apparently anyone can submit posts to the blog. If anyone is interested in co-running this that is. :holmes:

I'm off to do revision. Exam on Thursday.

I can see the site :holmes:

I can't pick my favourite series; I've liked the different ones for different reasons. My favourites are the first one with Ecclestone, the ones with Donna (I've lost track of which number those were), and this most recent one.

I guess my issue is that I see that this particular aspect of the Doctor's personality as something fundamental to his character. I don't think that the Doctor should ever be that ready to commit genocide. He always tries to talk to the enemy before trying to kill it. He's merciful. His personality changes with each regeneration but he's still the Doctor, so some things are constant. Maybe Moffat is trying to change the direction of the show to something much darker where the Doctor's personality is fundamentally different, but that is something I don't like the sound of. I like it when Doctor Who is happy! (hence my love for the Doctor and Rose, going back to the thread title for a second! :P)
Hmmm. Well considering I have recently hopped over to the dark side of totally wishing the Doctor and the Master would have a gay romance (seriously, those two have so much chemistry, it's hilarious.) I suppose I'm less into the happy side of Doctor Who and more into the hiding-behind-your-sofa aspect, which is a key part of Dr Who, I think. But I agree that the Doctor has been far too ready to commit genocide recently, what's up with you, Doctor???

Rose and Tennant bugged me as there scenes could have been ripped straight out from eastenders and no one would be any the wiser. there stories could have had there own soap.

In my opinion Eccelston was the best. his dark side was awesome who unlike tennant just gritted his teeth and aplogised. Goodness knows how many times he said it. Smith is also great as he has his own quirks and traits that make him different from tennant and is good to see him making the charachter his own.
I think Matt Smith is a great Doctor. He does the funny, ridiculous parts really well but he can do dark when he wants to. Best moments of the series, when the Doctor gets serious. One of my favourite lines of series 5 has to be "Nobody human has anything to say to me today!!" bearing in mind that he'd only recently re-destroyed all of the Time Lords and was about to make a Star Whale brain-dead. No wonder he felt a bit sensitive.

I love the idea of a Doctor/Master thing, not in a serious way of course, but when you think about it it's hilarious! That phone conversation that had at the end of series 3 "Are you asking me on a date?" So many innuendos as well with the screwdrivers...

Oh I love the hiding behind the sofa aspect, but when the Doctor turns up I want to feel safe again, rather than "Oh God, he's going to go crazy and kill everyone now D:"

I have a theory about Amy's (non)pregnancy
Spoiler:
Show
What if Captain Jack is the father? Given he is both alive and not alive all at once, surely then Amy could be pregnant and not pregnant all at once. And he can time travel to some extent, with his arm device thing, which might cause.... Timelordiness?

But yeah, it's probably wrong. On the other hand, it wouldn't result in ANY incest, which I believe is a first for father-theories

But these were both shown as bad things. Killing the Timelords made the Doctor a complete mess, he was angsting about it for the whole of series 1. Killing the Racknoss was to show that Doctor goes too far sometimes and needs someone to stop him. Even at the end of series 4 where clone Doctor killed all the Daleks again it was shown as a sign that he was filled with rage and blood or something, and so needed Rose to fix him. But with the Silence it wasn't even talked about, genocide was just a convenient way of getting rid of the silence and no one even mentioned it as being bad.
To be fair, it was the only long term defense system mankind gets. He even mentions it as he says that eons in the future mankind will always look back to the video of that moment.

But they haven't met Captain Jack....And it would seem odd to bring in that character (again), especially when he's in Torchwood...

Could someone explain to me who Idris is? There's been so much hype about her appearance and I think I've missed the point somewhere!

:noonoo: Is always significant! A Time Lord-eating hoover would be a great addition to Doctor Who!
