# Edexcel A2 C3 Mathematics 12th June 2015 watch

1. (Original post by marco cb)
When drawing the transformation of a function... what is the order it should be done?

Say -f(2x-5)+3

What order should I do the translation in? Thanks.

Also, I haven't time to look through the past few pages atm and I've seen mentions of a 'proof' - what proof do we need to learn for C3?
use BIDMAS

brackets first, then multiplication then addition
2. Does anyone else think June 2014 R is a savage paper??

Does it matter which one we deal with first, out of X or Y?

Thanks, it was really helpful! When you say X: Reflection, do you mean -f(x) or f(-x)?

you don't need to know it, don't stress
Ah thanks you. It wasn't actually for me, it was just a question my friend asked me. I actually do AQA A level Maths. Thank you regardless.

June 2013 question 5c had me baffled - I thought i was going crazy for a bit. Very unusual for an edexcel question
I just did that one. I liked it personally. But, it was quite the added effort for 4 marks. I did it successfully though.
