Something tells me you're not entirely satisfied, though. How could I make this right, dear Empress?
Bye her some chocolates - and whilst you're at it, keeping her Head Bartender happy would go along way to keeping her happy with you... (just saying!)

Weirdly for a staunch right-winger, I agree with you here.
I've always said in a perfect, morally sound, world we would all be communists. The issue is, human nature, biological instinct even, means we are not morally sound in any way, and thus communism and socialism which plays on morals is actually a very bad thing. If we could achieve it, worldwide communism would be good. We can't, and never will, so anything other than strong right wing policies are bad for the world and for individuals as far as I'm concerned.
Human nature isn't as simple as we assume it is

Star Trek is what I want, but is it fully communist?
I have never seen an axe on Star Trek.

Though as drama on tv it should be remembered for the portrayal of inter-racial harmony, especially given the climate in the US when it was made.

And it helped identify the species that John Redwood comes from- the second non-human politician I have ever seen in RL.

You're describing a social democrat, not a callous, heartless Tory.
Ha. Ha. Ha.

Naa, the anarcho-capitalists are just as bad as the commies in terms of wanting something completely unrealistic but most people are reasonably realistic on the left and right, share the same goal (to make their people prosperous within a market system) but have vastly different thoughts on how we achieve that (Energy bills are a good example - the instinct of Ed is to declare them predators and intervene in the market, the instinct of a good capitalist (assuming their not up the ass of big business) should be to remove the taxation which government idiotically puts on our energy bills).

Granted it's not always practical to use a market solution (relaxing planning law to the degree we'd need to generate private house-building for example is not politically practical even if it's the solution i'd prefer).

There is, I believe a political 'butterfly zone'.

You can of course incentives house-building in the private sector by reducing stamp duty on properties built on brownfield sites. Of course I would included the addendum that private firms benefiting from such would also have to build affordable housing at a capped price.

I turn my back one moment and Sir LP () is making me out to be a nocturnal predator and writing poetry, my Empress is denouncing me and the bartender who claimed he loved me is eager to drop me for the Empress.

I'll just stick with my cats. You know where you are with cats. Feed them, provide some boxes and baskets for them, pet them, and they won't abandon you for Empresses or go write poetry.
