First day of term today and I've done very little revision. It's fine though, I think I can manage maths + stats without any for now. Economics is a different story...

Why am I so rubbish at getting up in the mornings? At this rate I'll have overslept my 1pm lecture.

Exam tomorrow. Not done enough revision. Keep forgetting simple stuff and generally have no idea what I'm doing.

This is going to be interesting. :holmes:

Which questions did you do?
1,3,4 in both. Analysis was but I spent way to long on it giving me 1h20 on Foundations. I should have read the entire Foundations paper properly - and I would have done Q2. I've dropped **** loads of marks already from 3 and 4. And there were an insane number of find a mapping questions.

How about you??

I did the same, but Analysis only took me an hour. :holmes:

Q2? Tom and I were looking at it now and have no fecking idea how to do the third part. Sadly I did start it, but gave up half way through to do three and four instead 'cause it was pretty nasteh.

It looks very similar to (n/k)+(n/k+1)=(n+1/k+1)

That's what I thought when I first looked at it (after the exam )

Hahaha. That's the bit I saw when I picked up the question. It gets a tad messier.

LHS=\frac{x(x-1)...(x-k+1)}{k!}+\frac{x(x-1)...(x-k+1)(x-k)}{(k+1)!}

RHS=\frac{(x+1)x(x-1)...(x-k+1)}{(k+1)!}
Let x(x-1)...(x-k+1)=\mathbb{X}

LHS=\frac{\mathbb{X}(k+1)}{(k+1)  !}+\frac{\mathbb{X}(x-k)}{(k+1)!}=\frac{\mathbb{X}(x+1  )}{(k+1)!}=RHS
