    Hey guys,

For those of us on the Genomics programme it has been confirmed (I think) that the course will be taught at the University of Manchester (MAHSE).

Resp/sleep is at Newcastle along with Cardiac sciences, Vascular sciences, Gastrointestinal and Urodynamics. They all fall under 'Physiological Sciences'. They do the same 'core' modules and then their own specialism modules. You see less and less of each other as time goes on.

Hey SaltyCh1ps in addition to above how long do trainees spend at their nominated uni? i.e if you're down in london for your training post and have to travel to manchester would it mean having to go up to the uni for an odd day throughout the year each time or would you need to find accomodation at uni as well as your training location? Thanx in advance

Congratulations on the offer! I applied this year for Genomic Counselling but wasn't shortlisted for interview. I am keen on applying next year now. Could you please tell what is your academic background and how did you meet the criteria of working in a caring role? I have experience of working as a TA in reception class where a few children were SEN. Do you think this experience is relevant? Also any tips on how to prepare for the interview next year would be really helpful
    I will PM you!!

    Hi guys,

Just wondering if any of the other Histocompatibilty folks were around here? Is anyone from other specialities going to be based in Oxford?

Also - if anyone has a place based in London and wants to live 10mins away from St. George's give me a PM as my room will be up for grabs

Finally got my feedback, got to say although some of the points are probably fair enough I'm pretty confused by some of the results. For the Leadership section, I did think it had maybe gone a bit better in one than the other, but only marginally but my scores and comments couldn't have been further apart. For one I got 95% and excellent comments, for the other I got 45% and really negative comments. Just kind of feels a bit annoying that even though there are two interviewers when it comes down to it it's pretty subjective! Then for the scientific station I really cocked up one, didn't really have a clue how to answer some of the questions, then for the other I guess maybe I didn't give all the information they were looking for but I could answer every question pretty comfortably and I know the information I did give was correct. Yet I somehow got 60% in the one I was clueless in and 40% in the one I was pretty confident in. Just seems really odd. I don't really know what my point is as I can't change it now, but just wondered if others had found such a stark contrast in their interview feedback?

Hi Nightwing, glad to hear you finally got your feedback. I only had one interview, and found that both interviewers at a station gave me very similar marks to each other for 3/4 stations. However at Leadership, one scored me 100% (perfect score) whereas the other scored me 60% (just passable score) which I thought quite odd (unfortunately no comments from either to shed light).

I think the leadership and values stations are quite subjective which isn't helpful for consistency of scores. Hopefully the comments provided on your feedback might give you some ideas if you reapply next year. If so I hope you will be successful next time around! Your experience of the process would stand you in good stead. What are your plans? Good luck

I can't say I know how the scores are given, but at all my stations, there were 2 questions from each interviewer. Is it possible they only 'score' the questions they ask, giving a discrepancy if you perform worse on each? As I have not asked for feedback I don't even know what it looks like, merely a thought..

Have you not heard anything at all? I have had a couple of emails from them with a conditional offer and asking for proof of identity, CRB checks and occupational health stuff. Kinda annoying as I have to go all the way to Nottingham to show them my passport and driving license. Thought you would have heard something by now?

Oh, no I have not heard anything from them. however I went to Nottingham and met one of the STP-coordinator on Tuesday. they showed me around and told me that they will be in contact by July!

Do you guys have any plan for accommodation?
