You are so right. Everything there i agree with and i don't know much about fashion. Henleys and Jack Wills = So vile.

The fact 6 people negged your post obviously means they are the douchebags who wear such stuff you listed You should subscribe to tsr just to name and shame them lol

Not sure if it's been posted (apologies if it has) but polo shirts/button up shirts worn with the top button done up (unless you're wearing a shirt and tie, obviously).

That said, I don't see what gives people here the right to this elitist approach towards fashion. There are plenty of things I don't like, but likewise I'm sure there are many things I wear that others wouldn't. Heaven forbid having a different fashion sense to you.
Depends what type of polo shirt it is. But it works with polo shirts buttons up on for example the h+m ones and looks good. Shirt button up is a different story though and does look dumb without a tie.

Also, on males, skinny jeans are just wrong. :puke:
Im glad someone else out there agrees with me on this one! I just don't get all the indie kids running around with their stupidly tight jeans, it looks ridiculous.

Besides, my legs weren't built for skinny jeans ... I'd have to be cut out of them if I ever wore them!

WHAT? Pretty much all the lookbooks for designers i've seen who do shirts have included 'looks' with the top button done up? I personally cant.. got a really thick neck but it looks good on definitely some certain body types.
http://www.oki-ni.com/mens-shirts/icat/shirts/
It doesn't surprise me that they've included it; a lot of people do seem to like it for some unfathomable reason, so they're sure to cater for them. That's just good business sense.

I don't want to make it seem like I'm stating matter-of-fact that it looks bad since as I say a lot of people do like it, but the only people I ever see wearing it are either chavvy or slaves to what high street stores inform them is 'fashionable'. Every single shirt in that link could be made infinitely better with a button or two undone.

Perhaps more to the point for some people though, I've never met a girl who actually thinks it looks good. Maybe that's just due to the circles I socialise in though.

I know this will kick up some fuss as you all wear adidas shoes but seriously, keep the sports clothes to sports.
Totally missed this. This is completely and utterly wrong. sportswear+streetwear have long standing ties.

high street copies higher end designers though.

and not just on oki-ni

there's clearly a huge collection of people who are into fashion who like the top button done up. there's no denying the obvious. but fair, everyone has their own opinions right?

The fact that high end designers do it does not mean it automatically looks good. These designers do a lot of utterly ridiculous things too.

As I say though, a lot of people seem to like it so it's just sensible to do it. Who am I to say otherwise.

definitely, there's no doubt you can't blindly accept everything they produce. but high street tend to be more acceptable watered down versions.. and also. whether we like the particular design or not is irrelevant. the talent of the designers is pretty evident so.

Couldn't agree with you more there. I have a bit of a qualm with the last sentence though; I don't think doing a top button up can be called talent - the site you linked seems to be just a buttoned up shirt with trousers/chinos/jeans. I wouldn't call that talented or inspired (not to say the designers themselves aren't talented in general of course).

You're completely right on your last post though; there clearly is a huge market for it, we can expect nothing less than seeing it sold regularly. That's just clever business.

Regardless though, I think we're going to agree we have differing opinions on this one but then that's why there's so many differing fashions around.

I wasn't referring to the top button shirt thing specifically when I was talking about the talent. Just in general. Any style we may disagree on.

Those slug hats are something I absolutely hate. All you see is the forehead of the chav wearing it covered in spots. If he didn't wear it at least his hair might cover the spots that he doesn't treat on a morning.

If you've got a rear end like that, I see no problem.
The rear end? Hell if I was hung like a donkey I'd wear them with no issues.
