1. (Original post by lefterispower)
i made the same thing because i was running out of time!!!i feel so stupid!!!
My teacher said that i might get 3 marks for 11c and 2 marks for 11d!!!
I'm so annoyed at myself for doing that! ;[ It would be good if we can get the marks for the methods so that we dn't lose all 8 marks.
2. Guys for question 5b on inequalities i got x=1/3 and x=-3 but didn't write -3<x<1/3

Its out of 4 marks.. how many marks would I get?

3 marks I would imagine, lowest would be 2
4. Upload s1 when you give it

For the finding the length i got 2 root 10
I made a mistake in the last part of my normal

How many mnarks will i get out of 5
LOL same, I think we'll get:
1 mark for subbing x & y is 0 and another mark for Pythagoras and then we loose a mark for the actual answer

Oh wow, I'd be really happy with that! It seems like there's a few of people who have done that now! I agree with 2 marks for D, and C we should get 1 or 2!

Hey I made a really silly mistake.
On question 9c, instead of integrating I used dy/dx to find the gradient and the used the co-ordinates to find Y=mx+c.
would I loose all the marks?
you wont, you can get the gradient both ways. C1 doesn't require you to differentiate to get the gradient unless they tell you to. i used the coordinates and still got the same gradient. Should be fine.

Upload s1 when you give it
Arsey is probably going to upload the S1 paper on Saturday 18th at 00:00.
8. you guys do you know when the grade boundaries will be announced???
9. the day before results
10. (Original post by gdunne42)
the day before results
and the mark scheme?? thanks btw

and the mark scheme?? thanks btw
Mark schemes will probably be July, but officially only to teachers. With Edexcel though they always seem to leak out.
12. emmm peeps if I get an exact 80% (that's 60/75) that's NOT an A is it? its more like a B?
13. Such a relief definitely lost mark for not finding proper cords of question 10c
11 C differentiated wrong first time, then differentiated right with a grad of 1/3 didnt do -1/m since i saw the mistake 2 mins before time up and then got y=3x+6 but still managed to do part d and got 2 root 10 hopefully will get 6/8 or 4/8 and theoretically get 70/75 god that was stupid mistake
14. Still that's definitely an A so nothing to be mad about. Everyone makes mistakes when under exam pressure.

You might get the benefit of the doubt and they could probably take the right answer instead of the other one

(Original post by Fas)
you won't lose a mark - the question never wanted you to specifically simplify , it only wanted the length root160 , so simplifying was an added bonus and you won't get marked down for it

Okay that's reassuring, thanks! Looks like I got 75/75 then
16. What are people's guesses as to what the grade boundaries will be? Will it be like 65 for an A?
17. What will the grade boundaries be like? Will it be like 65 for an A?
18. Felt like I did really well in this exam. Now though, despite having found nothing that was obviously different to what I did, I feel sure that I have failed magnificently..
19. Blergh from what I can remember I only got 49 -__- So much for that B

A - 80 UMS = 63/64 RAW
B - 70 UMS = 54/55 RAW
C - 60 UMS = 46/47 RAW
D - 50 UMS = 38/39 RAW
E - 40 UMS = 30 RAW

The grade boundaries has never been above 63/75 for 80 UMS (Jan+June).
For C1 June exams, usually 72/75 was 100 UMS
The number of people taking January exams is much less than those that take it in the summer. People in A2 tend to retake C1 in January, so the paper tends to be a bit harder with lower grade boundaries roughly max 60/75 for 80 UMS.
As more people take exams in June (mainly first years) the paper is easier, therefore the grade boundary tends to be higher.
This C1 exam was an easy paper overall but it was also very easy to make silly mistakes with the signs and whatnot, but it would affect those that didn't have enough time to check or accidentally wrote the wrong things down!
So my grade boundaries have taken into account these little minor mistakes that would drag peoples grades down. It might be a mark higher than my predicted but no more than that!
