I feel so so awful I should be full on studying and trying to do well to get into uni (Medicine) but instead my depression is just putting me all over the place and I can't study without wanting to cry and I feel panicked and overwhelmed and it's getting too much

My parents don't believe in mental health and think I should be grateful (whatever that means) so I have to go to a psychiatrist alone next week and try to pay for everything myself. To top it all off I'm scared of starting medication 2 months before my exam.

I just want to succeed instead of panicking and feeling worthless all the time :bawling:

Anyone want to chat about mental illness? I'm feeling really weird right now I've made a blunder - I booked a trip to oxford and arranged to move out on the same day, I don't know what to do.

    What's on your mind, dude?

Could you get up super early, move out and then go to Oxford? Obviously it'll depend how close you're move/how much stuff you have etc....

Hmm :beard: I guess you'll have to either speak to your landlord to try and move on a different day or try to get your money back/reschedule the Oxford trip. Do you have any good friends who could move your stuff?

No I don't know anybody I could ask I'll just have to reschedule the move. The agency should be ok, I told her(the agent) last time I saw her but I can't remember what she said - something about I could move in later I think. LoL My memory is rubbish. I also booked the return ticket for the wrong month I'm useless really.

I got up at quarter past 5 to learn 2 essays and so far I've had a panic attack and thought about doing something I know I'd regret.

Today is not going to be a good day.

So, my first public performance in several years went well yesterday. I had a decent day, I played well, and my band qualified for the national finals in six months time!

Socially, although I do find it a little bit awkward, it is getting slightly better. Still on my own a lot of the time though, as everyone is already in friendship groups and I just don't know how to involve myself in conversations. There are a few people who I can talk to but they're not around all the time so when they're not there I just kind of stand hoping for time to pass faster until we'll have something to do that keeps us busy rather than just socialising. How bad does that sound!

But then I remembered just how awkward I found the first few weeks at uni, ages of silence because I didn't know what to say, but I eventually settled there. So hopefully I will here, too. Eventually.

Stressed out to the max! First my dog died, then my car got written off and now my stepdad is in hospital with a mini stroke. All this in the space of a week! Feel like my head is gonna explode
