Any statsy/ psych people out there?

I don't understand what the values should be for eta squared small, medium and large because every source seems different?

How do you report R?

What is the difference between Cohen and eta?

UG dissertations are like nursery school work in comparison

Thanks! And congratulations to you too! I'm sort of surprised because technically I was just under the mark, but I had enough modules with a first grade that allowed me to be pushed up to the higher classification (so close!)

That's exactly what happened to me! I got 69.25 overall, but I got upgraded because I had enough firsts this year. I'm really pleased - I would've been a bit disappointed to get so close but not get it!

Graduated with a 2:1 in Criminology and Sociology! I can't explain how happy I am, 3rd year was the most stressful time I've ever experienced!

Hello.

My results come out in 'early July', no specific date so since its now July I keep nervously checking my emails and each time my heart drops.

I know I'll have at least one resit in August probably 2 possibly 3 maybe more

My uni doesn't email the results they just email to tell us they are available and to login in to see them.

I'm toying with the idea of not looking until the start of August as I'll just be depressed for the next month, on the other hand I'll be spending the next month wondering.

No matter how many resits I don't intend on revising until August.

Ahh the suspense is killing me.

Hold me.

I reckon that's the easier transition!

Write notes, even if it's after a task. Improve tasks you do regularly over the year - for instance I have written a macro to do some things I was previously doing manual. Ask for opportunities or to help with work that interests you. And socialise with colleagues.

Just a diary to note meetings, timelines and tasks etc. I have never needed this at uni but it was definitely necessary on the job.

The 9-5 does take some getting used to especially if you are adding a commute onto that, but overall I have ended up with more free time than ever!

Really
It's been three days and i'm knackered, although I do have to commute!
Thank you for the advice, I think it should be better when it isn't 30 degrees when i'm walking up hill and hopefully it will improve when my project starts

The times do take some getting used to! The heat Ian't helping me, I only have a 15 minute walk but I am definitely feeling it this week!

My boyfriend has just started an internship required an hour commute (until we move in between the offices) and he is exhausted, but your body does adapt!

I'll be doing that too. But I'll be sitting with my niece at her nursery session so I'll be surrounded by little kids I can't even swear in front of if my results are bad.

I could just cry and grab a cuddly toy but the nursery teachers would not be amused.

I get my results on Wednesday. I had told my family it would be on Thursday and then I accidentally told them a few days ago it's Wednesday. Well I told a friend on the phone and my mum heard me. So yeah I'm going to be a psycho on Wednesday. It really sucks that my grade right now is 60.000333-something.

Congrats to all those who are graduating! For those who may not be sure about the type of work they want to go into, or unsure on what they want from an employer, completing my dissertation questionnaire may actually help you (as well as being a massive help to me, obviously)!
I would really appreciate it if any undergraduate students graduating this year (or next) could take 5 minutes to fill in this questionnaire. It can be a great self-awareness tool to get you thinking about the sort of qualities you're looking for from your first job once you've finished with uni, which can help you to target potential jobs/employers. Thanks so much!

Got 65.98 in second year, considering I found the modules really boring I'm kind of happy with that, but I need to start properly working and get that first!
