I'm doing advanced higher this year so hopefully I can manage most of the maths :yep: One last question, are most of the classes and lectures in Kings buildings or in the main uni buildings? Because when picking halls in the future, I don't want to pick a hall far away from KB if most of my lectures are there. Thanks for the help
You should be fine then!

They're mostly in George Square for 1st year (Maths and Chemistry definitely are in the main uni buildings, depends on what optional course you choose as to where the others are!). Obviously labs are down in KB. I'm in Fraser Court atm, which is near enough in the middle between both campuses, but there is a shuttle bus between KB and George Square if that helps things!

p.s. Hope you like 9am lectures, all the Chem ones are at that time for first year :P

Yes i wondered if thats what they are waiting on, but as Oxbridge is A*A*A and Durham is A*AA many may use them as insurance unless they prefer somewhere else or prefer to go for an AAA or AAB offer.
I put in my application the day after the Oxbridge deadline in the hope they would realise they were my top choice.
Just have to be patient I suppose.
Good luck with your application.

It is very slow to start off with. It gets good.

Although I think it's overhyped  having said that, I watched it all in a week.

Hi all,
Was just hoping to get some other chemist's opinions on unis, I've recieved offers from York, Notts, Sheffield and Warwick. I'm currently thinking either Notts or York but I have no idea how to choose between them? I've visited both and this hasn't swayed me either way. Any advice would be appriciated!

I was stuck with this same decision! In the end york swayed me... the town is so much more lovely. Write a list of pros and cons for each? Maybe that'll help...you've got ages anyway to decide.

Any distinct differences in how much module choice you get, and what kind of modules? Nottingham has a lot of investment into their chemistry department, but it's a much bigger university compared to York. How do the facilities line up for the whole university, if the departments are fairly similar? Sporting interests, societies, library availability, accommodation choices...

If you're doing an MChem have a gander at what areas of research both departments are involved in. Sheffield for instance, is known very well for its polymer chemistry. I don't know what York/Nottingham are involved in particularly, but this will affect your final year research project (and probably some of the module choices too).
