Edexcel A2 C4 Mathematics June 2015 - Official Thread watch

1. I think I may have messed up the question where you had to use the substitution to find the area underneath the curve, I ended up a negative value? I just cancelled the negative sign cos it's an area and was hoping to go back to it but I ran out of time
2. should we have done it in degrees or radians
3. no k=2 since you had to square root 4cos^2

.

Here's the poll guys: http://strawpoll.me/4648207/r
5. For the first answer.. k was 3/2 and what was p/q ?
6. (Original post by goonieskellie)
Yeah personally I thought 27 sounded like a good number hahaha
I don't think it would take 27 years for a population to rise by 25%, unless the animals are big on condoms or something
7. (Original post by Jasmine:)))))
(+-24/5,+-16/5)
Yupp got that
8. (Original post by Jasmine:)))))
(+-24/5,+-16/5)
Same but Did we have to put plus and minus?
9. Last part of the differential Q (7) I used radians to solve for t. I'm confused which one, degrees or radians, was appropriate? I thought when solving for trig it was radians by default.
10. wasnt y = +-4
11. Can someone plz tell me if this paper was harder then last yr? I found the last two questions hard! The first 6 were ace
12. (Original post by Nightmare8)
I think you needed to give it indegrees, 'cause in radians it didn't even make a year. I'm not sure though. I believe they will take both correct
I used radians because I thought that calculus with trig functions only worked with radians. I'm not sure if that's the right thing to do though.

14. how you guys found the shortest distance.
I used tangent.
d=tan31.82 * distance of AB
15. C4 Official Poll - Did you find it difficult?: http://strawpoll.me/4648207/r

Can someone plz tell me if this paper was harder then last yr? I found the last two questions hard! The first 6 were ace
I'd say easier
17. (Original post by cfcdrog)
Same but Did we have to put plus and minus?
It said coordinates at which dy/dx is 0! So there should be more than 1
18. (Original post by Jasmine:)))))
(+-24/5,+-16/5)
Y was 16/5

Much easier
20. (Original post by Jasmine:)))))
how you guys found the shortest distance.
I used tangent.
d=tan31.82 * distance of AB
I used the sine rule, anyone else?
