    Yes, you are fundamentally correct - the more a battery is used, the less charge it will hold the next time. I suppose that the lack of use of the laptop for some periods, and the large battery use on CTAM, may have both compensated for the 5% loss. However, that does mean I still have 95% capacity available to me, which should still get me about 4-5 hours under normal use, 6+ hours on lighter tasks, and a theoretical max of 7.5 hours.

    Inherently, that is surely better than nothing at all? However, TSR has proven to be rather resource intensive, so that is no surprise at all. Ultimately, whilst the battery is not currently at full capacity, you still have a decent amount of capacity remaining in the 4-cell battery.
