Need Sturridge back asap, Allen too. I can see us just grinding out games like this for a few more weeks tbh, it was the same least season.

    Deserved to lose that.

Suarez had that great touch and creativity. Sturridge has that acceleration and clinical finishing (and can run in behind). Balotelli needs to work on his first touch/passing and his acceleration isn't great.

Mignolet really needs a number 2 who can step in to put some pressure on him imo. Valdes on a free might not be terrible.

The fullbacks generally did well and I think in a season or two, could be brilliant for us.
Suarez has gone you know. Let it go.

The 3 points are all that matter. Move onto West Ham at the weekend now where Carroll and Downing will score again.

Can't even beat the minnows of the group without a dodgy penalty.

    ''We go again'' indeed.
Was it really dodgy? Looked fairly blatant to me, the keeper just took him out without touching the ball.

    They were awful though.

Incredibly lucky to win and it's good you all acknowledge that. At the end of the day, 3 points is all that counts but if I was a Liverpool fan, I'd be worried slightly with the performance tbh.

Liverpool benefitted last season from the uncertainty/upheaval at all of their rivals. These clubs have now fixed their deficiencies - City have strengthened at the back and Pellegrini has got used to the English game, Chelsea have strengthened all over the pitch and United now have a competent manager and some actual midfielders. Arsenal will surely not be as dire in the big games as well.

Liverpool by comparison have sold their best player and replaced him with a load of average ones. Would Markovic, Manquillo, Lallana, Lambert, Balotelli get in to any of those sides I mentioned? How many of them would even make the bench at some of those clubs? Remember that you're bedding half a new team together as well and squad rotation is a new experience for Brentan. Much like Van Gaal & United, things aren't going to click instantly.

Yes you've got a couple of injuries, but Arsenal have 3 fit defenders and United started the season with no full backs or competent wingers.
Flanagan, Allen, Sturridge and Can all injured is more than a couple.

Last season people criticise how Liverpool had a thin squad, we now make signings for depth still are criticised for that? Whether Suarez was sold or not we had to make those signings, they were not for his replacement.

Would Blind, Rojo or Shaw get into Man City or Chelsea's squad? I don't think so.

That was really bad. 3 home games so far and we've looked absolutely toothless in all of them.
