Hey peeps i'm pretty sure my offer letter said something about getting A in further maths and I don't even take it :s ....

Anybody else get Anything weird like that :\
Yeah, my offer letter read as if they wanted an A in AH Physics, which I'm not doing. I just e-mailed admissions to query it and a couple of days later my Track changed fixing it.

Email admissions and ask what's going on? A bit of clarification won't hurt.
I might have to try that its better than my idea which was to just put it off till results day

Hopefully it works for me too... but seeing as its it the Christmas break i'm guessing they wont make any changes yet...

Wow that was quick ILR issuing! Does it normally take a few days? I thought it takes months.

I have also applied for Computing My Interview will be in February, therefore I hope it will be as good as possible. But I am a bit worried, because my Math grade is not as good as A*(13.5 - which is between A and A*). I hope I can improve myself in this aspect.
Currently my grades are approximately AA*A*AAA(Math, Physics, CompSci, History, German, Englisch), so not taking me would a pity after all

    Oh, awesome! Another compsci!

Applicants' thread is here (this one is for offer-holders)

Your grades are better than mine, also you are a foreign applicant doing almost twice the average number of subjects for UK students so it's almost certain they'll snap you up. I only do 4 subjects and got an A in one and a B in another yet still got a place

    Good to hear
But don't you think that A in Math will make a problem?

Wilkommen, fellow comp scientist! (Sorry, I felt the need to speak bad German when I saw German was one of your subjects)
Erm, what kind of qualification are you doing, if you don't mind me asking? (Like is it IB, A Levels etc. etc.) Because the A in Maths looks a bit iffy but I think the A* in computer science makes up for it to be honest.

I am currently finishing my German Abitur, which consists of Math, Physics, English, German and History as my main subjects. It's a bit annoying to see the big differences in the german school system, as it largely depends on the teacher you have in your subjects. I am quite interested in Linux, so I think it may be beneficial for my interview

Aaaah, the German Arbitur, I wanted to say that but I wasn't sure if you were from Deutschland. I think you should be fine to be honest.
I did a bit of research for you (which you may have already done, but I'm bored and I don't feel like revising soooo...)
    http://www3.imperial.ac.uk/computing...s/requirements
If you look there, they accept a 13 or 14 in maths (which you have already, you have a 13.5 which is fine) and they will look into the regional issues (like you briefly touched upon).

You'll be fine Oh btw, this is the offer holders thread. You might find more applicants going on the same interview day as you on the applicants thread, which might be more useful to you. Well done for getting this far and GOOD LUCK!

Heh. My mum got a lawyer to do it for us, went to the Croyden office and did it on the day.

Is any aeronautical engineering offer holders here do IB?
What condition have you guys got?
I remember the offer condition was stated in the Imperial's aeronautics department website as: 39 overall with 6s in Maths and Physics. But suddenly they changed it to 7s in Maths and Physics! My offer condition was 7s in Maths and Physics so not a big deal for me, but it is a bit strange..

Anyone else been rejected from Oxbridge and got into Imperial, and are sort of happy about it?

Living in London, I kind of wanted to stay there, and to be honest, for Biology (my course) I don't think Imperial is any worse than Oxbridge at all. It's like the difference between Harvard/Yale and MIT in America. Oxbridge is more 'traditional' and 'well-rounded', but Imperial is specialist, and known for being damned good.

I just knew if I got into Oxford (was very close to it, the tutor at my college said out of 40 applicants, I was just displaced by one of the 6 chosen...) I would have to go, and now its nice to be able to actually make an educated decision to go to my remaining universities (I got offers from Warwick, Bristol, UCL and Imperial).
