I am  Never found another girl interested in it! My parents aren't too keen on the idea though. I am considering either navy or RAF

Haha, neither have I  My parents were really keen, they were the ones who got me thinking about it.

My parents seem to think that as soon as I write a form i'm going to spontaneously be shot.

I want to go into the navy and they offer a medical cadetship, where they pay for your final three years of medical school and you do your two years of Junior training in one of the armed forces hospitals, all while training to become a medical officer. Once you have completed your Junior Training, they offer extra training into specialisms etc and you obviously have a minimum service to carry out.

Ah, never thought you could do that!

has anyone done UKCAT yet? tip for revision and application process... all ive heard is that it has to be done by October of this year for 2014 applicants

I used www.ukcathelp.org it had loads of free practice questions and mini tests. Found it pretty useful. Was there anything anyone else used?
Here's a thread that might be of interest to you guys, Southampton BM4 2014 entry if anybody is interested

What's the difference between this thread and the other "Current Year 12 Hopeful Medics" thread? Sorry, if I seem really slow on this, I just havent come across this thread before :P

EDIT: Forgive me I now understand

EDIT: Now I don't because I've just seen "2014 re-applicants thread"!

2014 applicants will include current Y12's first-timers, Y13 (and older) reapplicants, and graduate entrants. There's always going to be overlap between some threads.

I've been considering this for a few years. Are you going to apply for funding before or whilst you're at uni?

Yeah, I was going to apply during the beginning of my first year at med school

Hey Everyone!

I was wondering if there was anyone who, like me, were considering going into medicine through the armed forces??

I am! You have to commit to 6 years in the armed forces, however you get a wage of £15K for the last three years of the course and they pay the tuition fees!
